Hi... I'm Sophia
If you've landed on this page, something on this website spoke to you. Maybe it was a word or a feeling. That moment of quiet recognition, 'yes, that's me', is where our journey begins...
A few years ago I was a woman who had disappeared inside her own life. I was homeschooling my children, managing a household, managing a team of professional engineers and operators, showing up for everyone around me, and somewhere in all of that, I stopped showing up for myself.
I didn't recognise the person I saw in the mirror and eventually I just stopped looking. I was exhausted in a way that sleep didn't fix. My knees ached and headaches got more intense and lasted longer. My skin was drier. I felt like I was quietly dying whilst knowing I hadn't even really lived yet.
I went to bed earlier. I did more exercise. I ate less takeout. Nothing stuck because I later realised that nobody had shown me what was actually going on underneath.
When I finally understood that my body was responding completely logically to an unsustainable life and a food environment designed to make me sick, things started to change. It wasn't a straight line, but one honest step at a time.
I lost 15kg. I slept better. I found my energy. I found myself.
And then I trained as a health coach to understand deeply what had already transformed my life, so I could bring you with me.
I'm here because I know exactly where you are, and I know the way through.
I named this practice Nur al Fajr: Light of Dawn.
Dawn has always meant something real to me. It's the first light after the longest part of the night, the moment when darkness lifts and you can finally see clearly. A new day, met with gratitude for everything that came before, and the quiet strength that only comes from having lived through it.
We're always tested. By time, by circumstance, by the weight of everything we carry. From those tests, when we choose to keep going, come our greatest growth and our deepest humility.
Nur al Fajr is built on the light that becomes possible because of difficulty.
And there is science in the dawn too...
While we sleep, our bodies are quietly doing their most important work: repairing cells, consolidating memory, regulating hormones, restoring energy. The night is the body's most dedicated work shift.
Dawn is the moment the body surfaces from its deepest restoration, renewed and ready to meet the day.
When we learn to honour both the night and the dawn, the rest and the rising, we begin to work with our bodies. That's where real energy lives. In understanding what the darkness is for.
My own journey is the foundation of everything I do at Nur.
Every stage of the LIGHT Framework, from the first moment of validation to the deep work of alignment, is something I have lived personally, refined through training, and built for the woman who is walking the path I once walked.
I understand that the journey is never a straight line, which is why everything at Nur is built around your reality.
Scope of Practice
I bring two decades of engineering discipline to everything I do. The same rigour I applied to managing complex systems in Oil and Gas, I now apply to understanding the most complex system of all, the human body!
I am a PREKURE certified health coach with a special interest in Mental Health. I trained in metabolic health, behaviour change, and the science of sustainable food and lifestyle transformation.

If my story has stirred something in you, I'd love to hear yours!
Your next step is a free 30-minute Discovery Call.
A genuine conversation about where you are, what your body is telling you, and where you want to go. No pressure. No pitch. Just two women talking honestly about what matters.

Nur al Fajr is a coaching practice, not a medical or therapeutic service. I work alongside your existing healthcare providers, complementing their care with sustainable lifestyle support, metabolic health education, and values-aligned coaching.
Where something falls outside my scope of practice, I will always say so, and help you find the right support.
My approach draws on current metabolic health science, informed by leading researchers in metabolic health, and the deep personal knowledge that comes from having lived this transformation myself, including blood testing, CGM monitoring, and years of honest, iterative learning.
To keep each other safe, it is important to understand what Health Coaching does and does not cover.
